I never knew Andy, but for all the young folks today I pray that as a whole we can come together and take care of our children. My heart breaks every day reading about the mental illness that is killing our youth in our country. My promise to you, Andy, as an AA member, will be to continue to help with outreach for anyone who is struggling with addiction. God Bless You and your family.

I am so appreciative of whomever wrote this open and honest obituary as it brings to light the failures of our systems (mental health and child welfare). I wish I had known you Andy, I wish I could have been a support for you, and I hope you are now at peace. As a foster and adoptive parents it breaks my heart that he entered foster care at 3 and died feeling alone, we have to do better. We must keep fighting for improvements to help children and families in need. RIP...
