Not sure what to say?

To the family and many friends of Andy -- We are distraught at Knox where Andy was so very well regarded by all and loved by many. Andy was never without a smile, helpful advice, and a cheery hello. He was a man of humble spirit, generosity, integrity, and patient helpfulness. May God bless the family and friends and comfort you as you grieve.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Andy's passing. He always made time to answer my questions about plants and flowers, all with his quiet smile. My heart goes out to his family. He was one of a kind.

It is with a sad heart that I write these words of condolence to Andy's family and all of the many, many people who would call Andy a friend. I worked with Andy while I was as a student on the Knox grounds crew in the mid '80s. Every time that I have run into Andy on campus or at a football game, he has called me by name and flashed that signature smile. Such a loss. So many funny stories that will never be told again. All of us from the good-old-days grounds crew will miss...

I had the pleasure of working with Andy on the grounds crew in 1987-88 while I was a student at Knox. I always enjoyed his wry sense of humor and appreciated his patience and bemusement with my wayward attempts at mowing and weed whacking around the campus. RIP Andy.

To the Pitman Family,

My heart breaks for you as you mourn Andy's loss. He was one of the sweetest, kindest, most un-assuming people that I have ever met and had the pleasure of knowing as a member of the Knox College community. His absence is going to be felt greatly all around this campus.

Andy and I shared the love of plants, pickles, and tomatoes, I don't think that either one of us could get enough of any of those things! I pray that God will wrap His loving arms around...

Knox College has lost a good employee,he will be missed

Knox College lost one of its best employee's,he will be missed.

I enjoyed visiting with Andy at Knox. No matter how busy, he was always happy to answer my gardening questions. He was so knowledgeable and a really sweet guy.
