Deacon Andrew M. Schneider

There are many of us in Northport who will never forget Andy and his lovely wife and I remember Ken collecting soda cans to find a cure for parkinsons. It was an honor to serve God besides Andy. And never forget his years at Grumman!

As an altar boy under Father OFarrell and Deacon Schneider who we all know as "Andy" the news of his death is terribly sad. But Deacon Schneider would want us to celebrate his achievements and remember the good times. When I was in elementary school I grew so fast that the robes we wore as altar boys no longer fit so Andy gave me his Deacon Robe and I told him I looked like Obe -One Kenobe from Star Wars since his robe had that big hood and the large arms..I even hid my hands with them....I...

My heartfelt sympathy for the family, I knew Deacon Schneider, his son Mark and I go way back, Deacon Schneider paved the way for my church ministry as ist a lector, his guidance will always be treasured at St Philip Neri, I will so miss him....
