Not sure what to say?

Nine years since you left this earth...but I know that souls or "spirits" live on. I'm guessing that yours is an active one & you're watching & smiling down as your legacy (Mike & Justin) carry out their lives successfully & happily. Two great-grandsons! Although they will never meet you in your human form, they will know, someday, that if not for you, they would not have been given the gift of life. Tell Warren, Marji, Clark, Brett & Rodney we miss them & to plan on a wild game of poker when...

I just ran across this guest book. Drew gave me my first job, pumping gas at the Kerr-McGee station he had at 23rd and Rockwell in Bethany. It was about 1973, and I was only in the 8th grade at the time. It was a great job for a kid to have and it was great working for Drew.

Yesterday marked a year since you left us and I am still missing your presence! There is no way you can ever forget someone with whom you spent 32 years. I don't regret that experience even though we had many differences during that time and both made mistakes. I will always love Drew Shields!!!!

Drew, I wish you were here to talk to. Justin loves you very much. Please don't stop watching over him. He is quite your loyal legacy. He learned so much from you and you are greatly missed. Thank you Drew. I didn't get to tell you that.

Drew was my basketball coach for several seasons prior to junior high school. I already had the bug but he helped solidify my love for the game. Drew didn't have a son on our team. He coached out of his love for kids and sports. It wasn't as a coach, it was his kindnes that I most remember. On occasion he would drive me home from practice. I was just a kid, yet he made a real effort to have conversations with me in the car. We both liked the Beatles and similar music and had fun listening...

May this light lift you up to hold you forever in Gods arms!

Drew, I am so grateful that I got be in your life for many years. Thanks for being so kind to me and putting up with me the years you were with Susie! You will be missed! Love, Carolyn

Shooting pool in the old game room; poker games after family dinners at the old homestead; OSU athletic events (you were so good with Sonny); sailing on Lake Hefner; horse races at Remington; gambling at Lake Tahoe; that perfect hair; that sexy voice... You walked me down the aisle!! These are dear memories that will keep me smiling whenever I think of you. I know you and Clark and Warren are deep into a heated poker game right now! See you sometime later, Cementhead!
