Not sure what to say?

i met andy and shauna at UofC in the 80s. my favorite memory of andy, droid, is on a road trip, just andy and i and a bushel of oysters in the trunk on ice, from gainesville to chicago. andy made his way to g'ville and we drove back in my newly repaired puke brown pontiac phoenix. i am sure andy had bushels of other "things" on this trip but i was afraid to ask. he was a gentle and kind soul and will be missed dearly. may his memory be a blessing.

A kind and generous man who is greatly missed. Although some steelhead may now survive to reproduce due to his absence, the world of friends who knew him must carry on with a sense of personal loss. May your memory be a blessing.

So many fun memories of growing up with Andy come to mind. Making fish sandwiches with our sister, watching him make a simple but ingenious tool to catch lizards to feed his snakes, getting thumped on the head with a pencil in exchange for him helping me with my math homework, marathon sessions of Rummy 500, the list goes on. Once Andy left Florida for college and beyond, we were periodically in and out of each other´s lives, where I saw him in Chicago and Seattle quite often. Over the...

Cousin Shauna, I finally got around to reading Andy's obituary! All I can say is that I wish I could have met him!

I met Andy as a student at Chicago. We shared a lot of good times together, but I remember him best as a quiet and faithful friend. We would get together in the afternoon and play two games. First it was soccer tennis, a hybrid game we made up the rules for and characteristically changed them as we wished. He never beat me in a single game, though we sometimes went into very long tie-breakers. But that was only half the afternoon. As the sunlight waned we would go inside and switch to chess....

I met Andy at the University of Chicago, and to say I remember him fondly is an understatement.. One of my best memories is the time Andy, Shauna, Gina and I drove to Florida for spring break in his big red Pontiac. They tolerated me the whole time! Anyway, I am shocked by Andy's passing and will miss him terribly. Take care Droid! Jeorg

I have so many memories ... Garland's family farm, all night backgammon, things that dont go in the internet!

Squid in? That text went unanswered until Shauna sent me a message telling me of Andy's fate. First met Andy while I was a college student at University of Chicago and he worked in the laboratory of Eugene Goldwasser. Outside the lab efforts, there were occasional Friday lunches were spent at Jimmy's Woodlawn Tap - cheap burgers and fries. Andy always a good influence, introduced me to the care of saltwater fish - with some coral from those days that I still have more than 30 years...

As Andy's eldest cousin, i encountered him a few times over the years, seeing him grow from a small boy to an adult. I heard that his family moved from Chicago then out West then to Florida. I have met up with him a few times over the years. At my mother's 80th birthday, most of the Eng extended family gathered, and i . i recall that Andy was there, i remember him being very generous and outgoing. I found that Shauna's memories of Andy's life very positive and heartwarming, and gave...
