We miss you, buddy!

I can never forget the impact you have had upon my life. You are a brother that surpassed the boundaries of flesh and blood, and a hero in every sense of the word. Not a day goes by that I don't miss you, Whitacre, and I never pass on an opportunity to praise your memory. I miss you and I love you and I thank you for everything.

Your family will be in my prayers forever. It was a pleasure meeting the two of you at the homecoming in CA, in December. The 2/7 boys loved him dearly. We are so proud to be apart of the 2/7 Marine family. With greatest understanding and love.

To the family of Lance Cpl. Andrew Francis Whitacre:
Andrew gave the ultimate sacrifice and will be held in the hearts of Americans forever. I cannot and will not let our fallen heroes be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to you. "Some gave all."
