Not sure what to say?

We studied together at upr in 1974. Lost contact with him and rolando. Please contact me , would give me peace to share the grief, Carlos sueños [email protected]

We would talk on the phone from time to time.. very interesting person an wonderful artist.

Met Angel in the late 70´s in NYC while attending graduate school at Columbia. Just today I was talking to a mutual friend. Great friend. My condolences.

Mi querido hermano mayor. Cuidadoso, protector, dulce, paciente. Un grandioso pintor, un hermano entrañable. Siempre en mi corazón y mi mente.

My condolences to Rolando, and Angel's family. Such a great talent gone too soon. His legacy will live on in his many works. A great loss for San Antonio and the world.

Angel, you are missed. You will not be forgotten. You really are an angel now, your spirit lives on. RIP, dear friend. Susan

i always think about ángel every time i drive around his towering metal sculpture shaped like an obelisk at the intersection of blanco rd and fulton ave...sadly, i now will remember him more fondly...

I am saddened by Angel's passing. Although we knew it was inevitable it still hurts to know he is gone. My love to Rolando. Such fond memories.

I remember meeting Angel about 30 yrs ago. I became his custom canvas maker, of which he made paintings that now are in museum collections. He made the leap into becoming a civic artist, accepting commissions for public art. He felt it made him a citizen artist, he was patriotic in a romantic artistic way. He was the sweet one, vulnerable, and fierce. He saw the layers, the bounty, the beauty. I honor him as he honored all of us.
