Not sure what to say?

Mrs.Powers was such a great teacher! She made every child feel seen and she had a natural gift when it came to teaching music. The impact of an amazing teacher truly last a lifetime. Continue Resting in Peace.

She was definitely the best music teacher anybody could ask for and she will be truly missed .

Mrs. Powers was my music teacher at Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary! She ultimately was the inspiration of me choosing a career in music education. I am a high school band director in Georgia. Thank you Mrs. Powers!

Just condolences from yet another student impacted by her many years of service to the arts as an educator. I am an orchestra teacher now and have often thought back (with so much thanks) to my short time getting to work with Ms. Powers at SVHS. I was the nerd that talked her into offering AP Theory there, and I know it wasn't her ideal schedule, but she put up with us like a champ. Every child she worked with benefited beyond anything we can imagine. I know she is missed.

We just heard about the passing of Mrs. Powers from one of her former elementary students. She was my daughter's chorus teacher at Forest Lake Elementary and she made sure every child had a part in their programs especially musicals. Mrs. Powers was one of the pieces of the puzzle that made Forest Lake such a special school.

Learning of Angela's passing was a shock. I knew her mostly through her children and she was a fabulous mother. But I knew her professionally, as well, and she was a fine and adroit musician with enviable talents and skills. To say her essence will be missed would be less than an understatement. I offer my condolences to her wonderful family and may that wonderful and joyful essence be with you forever.

We have wonderful memories of Lonnie B Nelson musicals that our children Erin and Tradd, participated in!! She made music fun for all!! So sorry to hear about her death!! She was a wonderful lady!!

Dear Lee and Ted, I’m so sorry to learn of Angela’s death. I have many fond memories of her vivaciousness and her sense of humor. I’d forgotten that I was only two years older than she when I played her step mother in “Hansel and Gretel.” Angela was a bright light. My deepest condolences.❤ Mary Lawrence

Mrs.A Powers was the music teacher for both our daughters. She also was our youngest daughter's first chorus instructor and then music director. When Jazz would have to sing solos or had a lead part in the play, she would say make sure you smile. We will always love Mrs.Powers and will keep family and friends in our prayers.
