Hillview Funeral Chapels - Newman Obituary

Angela Marie York was born to John and Mary Relvas of Newman on June 30, 1945 and passed away on Tuesday, October 19th at her residence surrounded by her family.

She attended local schools and graduated from Orestimba High School with the class of 1963. Angela attended MJC and then began working at Orestimba High School. She returned to work after her children were in school as an attendance clerk at Yolo Middle School retiring in 2004. In May, 1995 she married Ron York and happily joined him in re-enactments of the Old West. She loved the long dresses and fancy hats all the interesting people she met at that time. She was along time member of Newman YLI-Our Lady of Roses #221 and had a special bond with the ladies who cared so much for her. Angela was a 30-year survivor of breast cancer and lived the majority of her adult life fighting the disease. Dr. Mussa Banisadre and Staff, Dr. Chris Neville and Staff and Dr. Manuel Canga and Staff were her life supporters. Her relationship with Dr. Banisadre was for the entire 30 years of her illness and she had the greatest respect for this admirable doctor and his special staff.

Angela is survived by her son, Lance (Kendra) Perry of Crows Landing and daughter, Yvette Perry of Sacramento. She is also survived by grandchildren, Justus (Stephanie) Perry of Gustine and Cheyenne Perry of Crows Landing and Kai Hone of Sacramento, great-grandchildren, Skylar and Maverick Perry of Gustine. She also leaves her brother, John (Donna) Relvas of Gustine, sisters, Mary Coelho and Bernice (Don) Arnett of Newman and many nieces and nephews who treasured their Tia. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ron York. Angela was so grateful to have her newest friend and caregiver, Wendy Rocha who provided loving and compassionate care during a difficult time.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman, Thursday, November 4th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 am at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman.

Not sure what to say?

Dear Sweet Angela. We lost an Angel here on earth and Heaven has gained an Angel for Eternity. We love you Angela. Rest In Pease.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I feel so blessed knowing Angela for over 30 years. Such a strong woman, such a giving woman. A smile to remember always. I will miss her. God Bless, Angela and your loving family.

To my beloved sister Angela
Why? That's what we ask.
The truth is,
we may never be able
to know for sure why.
But we do know
there is no single "should
have done" or "could have
done" or "did" or "didn't do"
that would have changed that
why.
All that love could do was done.
Sleep well our sweet one.
--Mary

A very special friend, such a pleasure to know and work with. She will missed and remembered for her kindness and caring and for being such a warrior during her illness. She is a true role model for others. Sympathy to the family.
