Our beloved mother, grandmother, and dear friend, ANGELITA “LILY” ESTRADA GARCIA, age 87, lifelong resident of Mesilla entered the Golden Gates of Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. “Lily” as she was fondly known to family and friends was born August 26, 1934 to Miquel and Elisa Limon Estrada. She was known as “Grandma” to many that loved, cherished and adored her. Lily was a devout member of the Basilica de San Albino.


Survivors include her daughter, Patricia G. Lozano; son, Roberto Garcia (Amalia) all of Mesilla; her former son-in-law, Alejo Lozano; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lily was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Nacianseno “Cheno” P. Garcia on January 3, 2011 and her four brothers, Miguel “Mike”, Ricardo, Jimmy and Lalo Estrada.


Visitation for Mrs. Garcia will begin at 5 PM Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Basilica de San Albino 2070 Calle de Santiago in Mesilla where the Holy Rosary will be at 5:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in the same church. At her request cremation will follow and Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.


Serving as casket bearers will be Fred Giron, Mundo, Frankie, Mike, Jr., and Jimmy James Estrada, Felipe Garcia, Jr., and Victor Garcia. Honorary bearers will be her grandsons, Isaac and Orlando Martinez, Andres, Beto and Diego Garcia; great-grandsons, Nicholas and Tristan Martinez and granddaughters, Maya Garcia and Elizabeth Martinez.

Lily was one of the best friends' I ever had. She was always kind and loving, and she will be missed. So proud and honored to call her my friend. I was not able to visit her as often as I would have liked, but, she was always in my thoughts.
