Angelo Alfred “Al” Alvaro, 89, of S. 2nd Street, Clarksburg, died Monday, February 14, 2005 in the United Hospital Center following a brief illness. Mr. Alvaro was a retired glass worker with Rolland Division Fourco Glass with 42 years of service. He was born March 3, 1915, a son of the late Nicola and Concetta Demundo Alvaro. He was married to Judith Shaffer Alvaro, who preceded him in death on September 9, 1997. Surviving are one son, Angelo “Buz” Alvaro and his wife Rebecca, Bridgeport; two daughters, Carole Wise and her husband Paul, Parkersburg, and Camilla “Cami” Rogers and her husband James, Clarksburg; eight grandchildren, Michael Wise, Julia Wise, Joseph Rogers, James Rogers, Nicola Rogers, Deanna Alvaro, Maria Alvaro, and Mark Alvaro; one great granddaughter, Rylee Morgan Wise; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Tony and Fred Alvaro; and three sisters, Nellie Secret, Alvie Lucente, and Emily Totino. Mr. Alvaro was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a member of Clarksburg Lodge No., 482 B.P.O. Elks. Family and friends may call at the Davis Funeral Home, One Olen Thomas Drive, Rt. 98, Clarksburg Wednesday from 2-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 17th at 10:00am, with Reverend Father Cesidio Federico as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
