Angelo Gurrera, 92 of Point Pleasant, NJ passed away on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at his home. He was born and raised in Newark before moving to Point Pleasant 45 years ago. Angelo served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked as a Newark Police Officer and retired in 1985. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Angelo was loved by everyone and will be missed by all who knew him. Angelo is preceded in death by his wife to whom he was married for over 60 years Antoinette in 2012 and his brother Dominick Gurrera. He is survived by his adopted daughter Janet and her husband Ricardo Poblete of Point Pleasant, his niece Angela Gurrera of Point Pleasant; his sister-in-law Virginia Gurrera of Point Pleasant, and his grandchildren Justin, Paul, and Christopher Poblete. His is also survived by many relatives and friends including his loving neighbors the Schrader family, Robert, Wanda, and their daughter Abby all of Point Pleasant. The Visitation will be held on Friday February 13, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Hwy 88, Brick. The funeral service will be Friday, 7:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will be Saturday February 14, 2015, 11am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange, NJ. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.colonialfuner algroup.com
