Not sure what to say?

I knew Fr Libera when he was Command Chaplain at MCB Camp Bulter, Okinawa. He was a man of God and an inspiration to all who knew him. May his memory be eternal. Tom Bukoski, CDR, CEC, USN (ret)

Father "Angie" Libera,USN was the Chaplain for 3rd Reconnaissance Batalion, 3rd Marine Division for most of 1965. In Vietnam for more that 6 years, it was the most decorated US Marine Unit to serve there and sustained among the highest level of casualties. Father Libera was a 'plank holder' in establishing the reputation of that distinguished unit. He was a fair, no nonsense Officer who was always available for the troops and they were formost in his mind at all times. He lead from the front....

I have known Father Libera since we served together in the 1st Battalion 6th Marines in 1971 and like many Marines, I consider myself fortunate to have been his congregation. I have known a few saints in my lifetime and Father Libera has always stood first and foremost. Regardless of status, Father Angie treated all with love, compassion and true humility. While his Marines and fellow Chaplains accorded him accolades, his reaction to the praise was always a selfless humility. He baptized...

To All: Thank you all for your words of remembrance and sharing your memory of my Uncle with us all.
My Dad (Angelo's brother) and our family thank you very much.

If you would like a prayer card, email me your mailing address and I will be happy to mail you a card.

Again,
Thank you for sharing your memory of our Uncle. He is greatly missed, and reading these memories from you are dearly appreciated.

Pete Libera (nephew)

We had the privilege of meeting Fr. Ange in Okinawa ('81-84) and then again in Camp LeJeune, Nc. He baptized two of our six children. He was truly a saint. We enjoyed his many visits to our breakfast table and dinner table. My fondest memory was of him waiting for the lights to come on Christmas a.m. so he could join us and see what Santa had brought to our six children. He kept our dog Honey on Christmas Eve so she could be a surprise to our children. We were blessed to have known him....

We are saddened with the news of Father Libera's passing but we know he is with god. He will be missed here in our tyrolean community and all over where he served. A special priest to many who knew him. God Bless...Joe & Anne

In 1981 I served as a Navy Religious Program Specialist in Okinawa. My second week there a friend invited me to Mass, my first. As celebrant, Fr. Libera spoke the words, "This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world." At that moment I knew I was going to be a Catholic and I knew I was going to be a priest. Angie became a fast friend and mentor. Oh, I recently celebrated my 18th year of ordination, and serve as a Navy Chaplain. Thank you Angie. I will offer Mass today...

Father Ange and I served together in my first assignment as a Navy Chaplain in 1982 in Okinawa. He was truely a priests priest, always looking out for us younger chaplains. Gentle, kind and wonderfully compassionate. He will be greatly missed.

I just heard about Fr Angelo's passing. He was truly, a Holy Man. Our family experienced his comfort, caring and his ministry many times. One will always stay with me. I was 11. My father's brother, Louis J Pellizzari 1St SGT USMC, a life long friend of Fr. Angelo, was killed in Vietnam. Fr. Angelo celebrated the Rite of Christian Burial at Arlington National Cemetery. We shared our grief, love and faith. I'm honored and blessed to have known him.
