I went to Bishop Eustace from 1977-81 and Fr Angelo was principal. Unofficial friend, guidance counselor and mentor. Nothing bad to say about Fr. Angelo.

Many times I sat in Father Angelo’s darkened office and I felt a tremendous sense of fear. However, by conversation’s end, I would have felt a gentle pat on my shoulder and the compassion of a fair man. Even though I am now an adult, I still believe that Father Angelo’s guest chairs could swallow me up because his presence had that effect.
A person can encounter many in his or her lifetime. If one is lucky enough, a guiding spirit will enter. It took some time; still, Father...

To Mary Franco and family, I am sad to learn of the passing of your beloved brother Father Angelo Palermo S.A.C. My father John P. Coyle (deceased) and your brother were in the Seminary together at Sag Harbor. My Dad spoke of what a wonderful friend your brother Angelo was to him. My Dad often joined your Dad and your parents when they visited him at the Seminary. My Dad being an orphan truly appreciated that. Also your brother shared his stash of food that your parents gave him.

Father Angelo was a wonderful friend and devout priest. He was a blessing to us and to the parish of OLSS. Fr. Angelo was there for me and my family when we needed him the most. I will always be indebted to him!

As a member of the first freshman class of Bishop Eustace girls in 1972, I will always remember Father Angelo as a larger than life figure. He was the visionary who allowed us onto this wonderful Eustace campus. He was a great principal and leader of our community. May he rest in peace!

What can one say about a force of nature? As someone who learned the rudiments of Latin from Father Angelo--as well as a healthy respect for discipline--I can only acknowledge the influence of those pioneers who laid the foundation of what Bishop Eustace Prep. is today. As a young teacher who spent more than the first decade of his vocation "learning the ropes" from Father Angelo, I can only thank him for the hard lessons learned through his judicious but caring tutelage. As someone who later...

The Pallottine communty has lost an irreplaceable priest. Would that all of the Eustace religious community been like him. His example was large enough to bring others to consider the priesthood.because his example was one of kindness, truthfulness, and a contagious love for his Master and God. (V. Rev. Chrysostomos Robert Geis, S.S.B.)
