RAGNONE, Angelo J. - Of Flint, age 83, died Friday, September 7, 2007 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Gary L. McInnis officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation 5-8PM Sunday, 1-4 and 6-8PM Monday at the funeral home. Angelo was born in Flint, Michigan on January 23, 1924 and was a resident of Flint all of his life. He was married to Bessie Grizzel and she preceded him in death in 1975. He then married Bonnie Egan (Hardin) in 1990. Mr. Ragnone served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the American Legion Oakley Trayner Post Mt. Morris and was a life member of DAV and VFW. Mr. Ragnone retired as Superintendent of the Maintenance Division with the Genesee County Drain Commissioners office. He owned Grennon's Restaurants in the 1950's and 1960's. Surviving are wife, Bonnie; children, Jim and wife Charlene Egan of Ohio, Judy and husband Pat Dompier of Baraga, Michigan, Michael Egan of Flint and Mary Egan of L'Anse, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; brother, Dino and wife Pat Ragnone of Flushing; sister, Mary and husband Mike Cherveny; many nieces and nephews.
