ANGIE MAE CHRISTIAN (NEE LaCOMBE) HOBART, IN Angie Mae Christian (nee LaCombe), a longtime resident of Hobart, IN, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013. She was a naturalized US Citizen who was born in Escort, Canada Province of Quebec on December 31, 1937. Angie met and married her husband Gerald in Limestone, Maine. They married March 14, 1957 and enjoyed 54 wonderful years together. Angie was preceded in death by Gerald, who passed away in 2012. Angie was a homemaker and loving mother, grandma, great grandma, and dear friend to many who loved her. She was a member of St. Bridget Church. Angie participated in bowling leagues at Hobart Lanes and was a member of Helping Mother’s. She was passionate about, and participated in, any activities that her family was involved in. Angie enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, sewing, antiques, and Hobart Brickie and Notre Dame Football. She was an avid animal lover, especially her Bassett Hounds. Angie will be so greatly missed by family, friends and all who knew her. Angie is survived by her children: Steve (Sandi) Christian of Valparaiso, IN; Dona Christian of Las Vegas, NV; David (Dianna) Christian of Hobart, IN; and Tammie (fiance Romeo Jeenarine) Christian of Freeport, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael (Amanda) Christian, Natalie Christian, Gerald Christian, Jillian Christian, Steffane Christian, Bryanna Bardsley, Alexandria Bardsley, Cheyanna Bardsley, MacKenzie Harrison and her great grandson, Logan Christian. Angie also leaves behind her siblings: Lionel (Omerine) LaCombe, Arnold (Judy) LaCombe; Pauline (Robert) Jackman; Lisette Dubi; Hilda (Junior) Malcomb; Cynthia (Gary) Fleming; Elden (Barbara) La Combe; Robert (Sandra) LaCombe; Maurice (Sherry) LaCombe; Gisele (John) Lee; Diana (Lonnie) Adams; Gertrude (Wayne) Campbell; sister in law, Evelyn LaCombe; and many nieces and nephews. Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Christian; her parents: Alcide and Amanda (nee Avione) LaCombe and step-mother, Matilda (nee Brousseau) LaCombe; her brother, Rheal and his wife Alice LaCombe; brother, Paul LaCombe; sister, Monica and her husband Charles Jandreau; and brother-in-law, Antoine Dubi. Angie was also preceded in death by her grandson, Bradley Harrison. A private family service and burial of Angie’s cremains were held at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, IN on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel handled the arrangements.
