Angie Price departed this life peaceful at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, IN on Monday July 10, 2023. 


Angie was born on January 9, 1972, to Lean Hamilton and Lavon Smith.  She confessed hope in Christ and became a faithful member at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Angie was a graduate of the class of 1991 from Roosevelt High School. 


Angie was a loving wife to Eric Price for 28 years, from this union she was blessed with 2 children whom she adored.  Angie was also the world’s greatest sister and daughter; she was truly her brother’s keeper.  She was the best friend any person could ever hope for, she was full of laughter, kindness, and a hug for those that she knew and cared for, which was mostly everyone. She would readily pray for you or offer words of encouragement.  She was known to speak her mind but tried to be kind about it.  She loved music and dancing; she was a huge fan of Michael Jackson.  She was known for cracking jokes; if you knew her then you probably heard her say her famous saying “Call the police”. Angie was a fan of basketball.  She was employed by Baron Stockley Janitorial Services & Golden Age Home-health and for many years she worked for the board of elections with G4-22-28 precinct during election.  She was well known to everyone in the Dorie Miller Housing community.  


She is proceeded in death by her father, Lavon Smith; maternal grandmother & step-grandfather: Henry &Mary Thedford; Paternal grandfather, Sam Horton; Paternal Grandmother, Jessie Smith; Aunties: Ollie Collier and Emma Arron and Cousin Leon Collier.


Angie leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Eric Price Sr.; 1 son, Eric Price Jr.; 1 daughter, Angelina Price; loving mother, Lena Hamilton; 3 brothers: Rodney Horton, Kenneth Horton and Deon (Tracy) Lay;  Cousin/Sister, April Collier; 2 special aunties: Loise Harbour and Mary Ann Collier; 2 special Uncles: Walter Lay and Roger Collier; 3 special longtime friends: Tawana (Shawn) Rogers, Carlisa Wheeler, and Zsakenja Mathews and a host of nieces, nephews, family and many friends.
