Not sure what to say?

I will miss my beloved friend of many, many years, but grateful to the Lord for the times and memories we shared while she lived in Southern California. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the Birkland family. Anita's love for the Lord, her family and for others is an inspiration to all who knew her. She was, indeed, a remarkable gentle lady.

I only knew Anita for 2 short months but I became close to her as she talked modestly about her life, and what a life it was! PH.D at age 65. All her travels. She would rush from the dinner table to finish a book. Her last night
she did just that. She had to finish the last 20 pages of a book about Cleopatra. And her love for her family shone through as she proudly told us about their accomplishments.
We will miss her at Rose Schnitzer. She made an impact in those 2 short months.

I will long remember her gentle presence in our book group, the stories of her travels, her smile. With sympathy for her family, Dorothy Larco

A Sunday School teacher I will never forget - she was a credit to Portland Foursquare Church and to her family. Her actions spoke louder than words, and she was so generous with her time and talent. She was a 'teacher' in the truest sense of the word. How lucky you were, Rodney & Wendell, to have such a knowledgeable and loving mother. She will be missed by so many, but welcomed home by her precious Lord. God give you peace in knowing that she is in a better place, and you will see her...

our sincere sympathy goes to you, Rod and Wendell and your families, for yhe loss of your Mother.

We are so saddened to hear of Anita's passing. She was a gracious and wonderful lady. Mom's (Aileen) best days always involved a visit from Anita. She always made the day special. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sending our thoughts and prayers to the Birkland family. Anita was a beautiful and gracious woman inside and out.
