ANITA CARTER Anita Teresa Carter passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2015. She was born on September 14, 1940 in Irvington, CA. to Antonio and Catalina Hernandez as the twelfth of thirteen children. She met and married the love of her life, Paul Carter, on September 9, 1962, and were blessed to spend the next 50 years together. Upon Paul's military retirement in 1977 they relocated to Paradise, CA to raise their two sons. Paul and Anita quickly embraced the community support-ing Little League base-ball and the Paradise Saints and Bobcats football teams. Anita began a career in advertising with the Ridge Gazette before moving over to the Chico News and Review where she retired. Anita was also an active member of the Paradise Gem and Mineral club, serving many office positions including President. Throughout the years Anita enjoyed rock hounding, mining, de-signing and making jewelry to sell around Paradise and traveling Northern California's Rock show circuit. Anita and Paul were co-owners of The Ridge Jewelry, Beads and Gifts for more than 10 years before retiring in 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul and is survived by her two sons Allen and Frank and their wives, Cindy and Christine. She has five grandchild-ren, Brent, Justin, Nicole, Quentin and MacKenna and three great-grand-children, Jocelyn, Lilyana and Brady. Additionally, she is survived by a brother, four sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Anita was a member of the First Assembly of God. Her services will be held at The Chapel of the Pines on November 4th at 11:00 am followed by a celebration of life reception at the First Assembly of God. In lieu of flowers Anita requested donations to be made out to The First Assembly of God Church in Paradise, CA.
