Not sure what to say?

Dear Van Tassels, PLEASE know auntie Anita made my youth. She was my mom's beloved sister. I could not fly for service. She was ahead of her time in so many ways. The matriarch of family. She never failed to call my wife on all my brain surgeries. Always kind and giving and kind. It was never easy leaving all. Her and Norm are looking down with clubs and bloody Mary's watching as she knew truth

We knew Norm and Anita since we moved to their street 27 years ago. They were a lovely, warm, and welcoming couple who treated us like family. We miss both of them and treasure the time we shared together with them. We loved to see Anita doing jigsaw puzzles at the front window. She always gave us a friendly wave as we walked by.

Anita was a very special aunt to me. From childhood I have lots of fond memories of her as she included me in so many fun family activities. Also our birthdays were on the same day, except they are 15 years apart. We exchanged humorous birthday cards each year until her later days which resulted in just phone calls. I'm hoping I will be blessed with her good health and longevity. Even though I will miss he greatly, I know I will see her again in time. My love and heart felt pryers go out...

My condolences to the entire family.Your mom will always be with you.Never easy!

I had the pleasure of meeting the Van Tassels in 1981 at the Longmeadow country. From the moment we met, it was instant friendship. Anita would always go out of her way to waive or say hello. She and Norman, even in their 90´s, took daily walks, always together, along the William Street corridor. She will be missed; but the great memories have survived.

There was always the other side of Norm and that was Anita. I had worked for them and Anita was a very nice person. The 2 of them were one of the nicest couples I ever met.

Anita was a loving presence in my family´s life; I´m Ellie Nolan´s daughter. So kind. I can hear her say "Ya" in conversation, her eyes crinkly with happiness. I´m very sorry for your loss, Janet.

"Aunt Anita" was and will always remain very special in many, many hearts. At 101, despite anything that was happening in her life, she regularly reached out to others. Without fail, she would call to ask, "how are you doing?" Love To All, Diane & Rich

To Anita´s Family: While I am saddened to learn of Anita´s passing, I am happy to have known her and Norm, a magnificent love story which brightened many lives. No one was better than Anita and Norm, doing so many things together and spreading their joy and love among so many others. What a marvelous couple. We are blessed to have known them and to have enjoyed their friendship. Remember the good times. Love, Bill and Pat Fitzgerald.
