I met Ann in 1994 when I was a child. Not once did I witness her as unkind, and this is perhaps the highest compliment that I can pay. As an adult, I greatly admire her strength, peaceful demeanor, resilience, and courage that she probably maintained throughout her life here. I met Ann when she and Chip came to Buffalo in the late 60' -- a cat on her lap, a cup of tea in her hand, and a smile on her face that welcomed the world. A lovely, gentle woman who knew her own mind and who always managed to stay true to herself in an era of ever changing cultural fads. You could always count on her for a kind word and straightforward, wise advice. Asking yourself, "What would Ann do?" wasn't a bad approach to most any problem.
