Not sure what to say?

Dear Doug, I was very saddened to learn of Ann's passage a couple of months ago. I had not interacted with Ann since her leaving the American Bar Association's legal services committee and National Association of Interest on Lawyer Trust Account Programs (NAIP) in the late 90s. We first met in Denver in September 1986 with about 20 other state Interest on Lawyer Trust Account (IOLTA) programs to create NAIP and thereafter 2 or 3 times annually at ABA and NAIP conventions around the U.S....

Ann and I attended high school and shared a number of classes. It may be hard to think of the ever-professional, always dignified Ann as a sixteen-year-old. We compared shoe styles and only occasionally discussed chemistry during chemistry class. Of course she was brilliant, but I would still tease her about missing (only) one question during a try-out for the TV show "High School Bowl."

I was so sorry to learn of Ann's passing. I have many fond memories from St. John with choir and Walther League. I miss all of you since you are no longer in Salem! You are all in my prayers for comfort and peace. I found a picture from VBS, about 1956. Ann is in back row far left; Phil in front row far right. My brother John is front row 4th from left. I'm in the 3rd row up, 4th from left. You may recognize other faces.

Ann's presence in our class at SSHS clearly stimulated myself and others to take the initiative to learn. She was a role model for many. Wonderful to have shared a portion of SSHS history with her.

My memories of Ann are so wonderful. She made me feel so good. I need to find out if she was in grade school with me, my memories of her seem to go way back. Everyone knew she was brilliant and also experienced the the beauty of a soul that was gracious to everyone. It is so good to hear about her life accomplishments and passion for helping the poor and elderly.

Doug Ann was a wonderful board member at Friendly House. I had the pleasure of working with her and will always appreciate her support of staff and our low income clients. So sorry to learn of her death. Mary McWillis-Brentano Director of Friendly House 1986-2000

Dear Ellen, thinking of you and your close, wonderful family. I may have met Ann only once or twice, but I know how you relished time with your family, and Ann was certainly part of that joy. I'm so sorry for your loss. Love, Laura

Ann was an amazing person, even as a young girl. She was a school mate and part of the South Salem HS class of 1969. Ann was brilliant even at a young age. Our parents were friends and I was amazed to learn that Ann read the encyclopedias - heck we couldn't even afford a set let alone would I have read them! May the saying "may her memory be a blessing" help all of her friends, colleagues and others during this tough time. She was an amazing woman who leaves a wonderful legacy.

Doug, I'm sorry about you losing Ann. Please take solace in knowing many people are thinking of you and Ann's family.
