Ann C. Brown

I was thinking of my friends the Brown family today, when I put in a search. I was deeply sadden to see Ann's obituary. I had so many thoughts that flooded my head, I will share a few. First of all Anns boisterous and heart warming laugh, it was the best. Her fabulous zest for the art's, and her pottery. Oh and that cut up rusted barrel that was welded to stands, on display in the backyard of the Jackson road home. We all joked, it really was art. To all of you I send my heart felt condolences.

Ann was a mentor to me on living your best life. I first met her in the 80's while she was working in ceramics and was a member of Clayworks pottery co-op. She had a knack for making you feel comfortable with her warmth and sense of humor. Memories of her having a pot luck at her and Hugh's home and later a tea party at their apartment with a view were memories I hold dear. Ann Caywood Brown and I were friends for more than half a century. She had a talent for friendship as well as for art and leadership and community service and nurturing and appreciating what others brought to shared interactions of all kinds and being supportive when support mattered most.
