Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

Feeding Hills- Ann E.  "Corky" Corcoran passed away on March 31, 2023, at the age of 79.  Raised in Chicopee and Springfield by both her mothers, Corky was a 1961 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Springfield and made her home on Florida Street for many years.  After graduation, she began her career working as a secretary at the Springfield Armory in the purchasing department, earning promotions to Purchasing Agent.  After enjoying a 2 year "vacation" after the Armory closed in 1968, Corky then worked as Executive Secretary to Richard S. Thomas, president of Richard S. Thomas Realtors, until 1983.  She then started the final leg of her career, working for 28 years as the secretary to John O. Hayden, President of the Hayden Corporation, until she retired in 2011.  She was predeceased by both of her mothers, Ann (Dunn) Corcoran and Rita M. (Corcoran) Evans, her brothers James R. Shea and Edmund C. Dion, and her aunt, Margaret (Price) Corcoran, along with too many other friends and family members who took a piece of her heart with them when they left this realm.  Corky is survived by her niece, Maureen (Shea) Shepard and her husband Michael, of Feeding Hills, her nephews, James R. Shea, Jr., of Clearwater, FL, Richard J. Shea, of St. Petersburg, FL, Kirk G. Shea, of Oceanside, CA, and Kevin S. Dion, of Springfield, PA.  She also leaves her cousin, Barbara Constance and her husband, David, of So. Harwich, MA, and her Godchild, Cheryl Zapata and her husband, Julio, of Springfield, MA.  Per Corky's wishes, a graveside remembrance will be held on Thursday, April 13 at 11:00am, in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee.  Corridan Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.  www.CorridanFuneral.com

Not sure what to say?

I moved away many years ago and was just reminiscing about my time on Florida St when I stumbled on this. Her memory truly is a blessing to all who knew her, after only a few years as neighbors, and 15 years apart....I still think of her so often and talk with her in dreams. So much love.

Miss you and love you...

She was a Beautiful part of our family. She was just a Beautiful woman.

I am sitting here holding my membership card issued in 1976 for the "Turtles Club". Cork, who is going to ask for the secret password now that you are gone? You will be missed more than words can express. Pest in Reace my friend.

Wonderful picture of Aunty Corky. She always had a witty or sassy comment to brighten my day! She is fondly thought of and will be missed but know she is in no more pain. We love you - Chrissy, Chace, Jax, and Joao Dias xoxo

We love you Ann and will miss you so much. I will forever remember all the fun at RST, where we met, and remained friends for all these years. You are in my heart forever. RIP my friend. ❤❤.

Maureen and family, I am so sorry to hear about Cork´s passing. You will be getting a card in the mail for her as I just found out. Love her like a sister and am so broken hearted that she is gone. R I P dear friend....LYM Diane
