As I sit here looking at my Ethel M. Evans 1st Grade "Progress Report" card from 1961, I think back to my school year with Mrs. Engebretson. It has been about 50 years so I don't remember much, but I do remember a wonderful Lady who helped me first shape all of my years in school.

I wrote an entry, but don't think I got it finished so I'll try again . . .
I had Mrs. Engebretson as my 1st grade teacher in 1964 at Evans Elementary in Garden Grove. (I only got to have her the first semester before I moved; my next teacher was not as kind.) She taught me how to read and I have fond memories of that year. I didn't get a class picture, as it was taken after I left, but I remember Randy, and the twins, Billy and Bobby Waters. I am glad to see she lived a long life. ...
