Dear Milan and family,
I was very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. While I know it's little comfort, remember she had a long and active life. She made an impact and will be remembered.
I remember her kindness from when we were kids in N.P., and I remember later, her appearences at Memorial Day, honoring the memory of your brother Mike. You should know that I honor both your brother and your mom when I teach my classes about the war. They see the tracing I made of his name...

My deepest sympathies to you, Mark, Milan and Lora May. Your mother was a very fine and gracious lady and we were all blessed to have her in the family. I am very sorry I cannot be with you in Milwaukee for the service, but please know you will all be in my thoughts.
