Not sure what to say?

I'm so sorry to learn of the loss of my former colleague Ann Harris. At first i was a bit daunted by her reputation and seeming reclusiveness but soon found her to be both intellectually generous and wickedly funny. Once I left Bantam, I was honored when she invited me to lunches to share her laughter, keen observations, and wise advice. I loved hearing of her world travels with her beloved Cyril. Enduring affection to her and condolences to her family!

Ann was not just a wonderful editor, although she certainly was that, but a warm and kind colleague. When I was hired at Bantam, after 11 years as a freelancer between corporate gigs, I took over some of the books Ann had signed up and although she gave me free reign over them, she also kept a hand in and made sure that whatever I was doing was up to her standards - which were very high indeed. I wish I could tell her how much I admired and respected her. She was a class act in every way. RIP...

she was a "pro's pro."

I knew Ann Harris my entire life. She was a friend of my parents. She was always kind, warm and lovely. I saw her a few times as an adult and realized how intelligent and interesting she was. I know she will be missed. My love to Kate, Nick and the family.
