October 8, 1927 - January 17, 2014 Ann loved and valued her growing family as much as any person could. She loved seeing each generation of her family live and prosper, full of new accomplishments. Ann passed away peacefully in her home, with her daughters by her side, at the age of 86, having...

I worked with Ann during the CED/SMRR/Hayden Assembly days. She was a warm, calming force in the midst of the storms. Completely dedicated to the causes and always a sweetheart.

I met Ann through the Tom Hayden campaign in 2001 and worked with her on many progressive issues. She was an amazing progressive activist and Democrat who we could all turn to for advice and support. What a terrible loss for the community and her loving family. Very, very sad.
We will miss you!

Dear Julie, Cindy, Peter and Tom,
I worked in the Hayden office and long after in Santa Monica politics with your mom. (Julie and Cindy, I remember you well, but won't feel badly if you can't reciprocate.) Ann was one of the most genuine and caring people I have ever known. Not, mind you, without her zinger moments! I shared with her not only politics, but her love for art. Julie/Cindy/Peter/Tom:
Your mom was just the best. I do not know anyone who had a bigger heart, or who cared more about others than she did. I was so proud to call her my friend. She will be much missed. Karen Hancox

It was a joy as much as it was a privilege to work with Ann Hiller on the executive board of the Santa Monica Democratic Club during the later years of her life. She was a quietly radiant presence -- centered, calm, thoughtful -- and she deployed her personal gifts in a sustained and productive commitment to making the life of this world gentler, kinder, and more just. Those gifts included a keen intelligence and an inquisitive and freethinking spirit, and we could rely on her contributions...

I met Ann thru the Tom Hayden political operations some 35 years ago and she was a friend to all that came thru our offices. When she did not return my phone calls a few months ago I worried about her. I enjoyed working with her and she was one of the top "troopers" in Santa Monica and West LA. Thanks for everything Ann and glad you were a friend. Bob Mulholland, Chico, Ca
