Ann Kilkelly was my wonderful tap teacher for many decades here in Blacksburg. We continue to learn much from her, through tapes and the memories of steps by different women who had studies tap from her. Thanks to Ann's insistence we all learn the shim sham in order to commune with other tap dancers anywhere, we are part of a tap community.

We met Ann in Black Mountain through Alternate Roots. She announced that women who grew up in the 50s in the USA were tap dancers and knew the Shim Sham. That was me. I instantly loved her style We baca me friends. I will miss her.

I met Ann and Carol thru many avenues of music, theatre, politics, social awareness, gatherings and so on. I was honored and appreciated Ann's enormous talents and gifts. Remembering the wonderful parties and jams at their beautiful home, she touched my heart and expanded my musical awareness. Loved singing with Carol and Leslie in their home. She is now singing and dancing with other great spirits! Fly on Missy!

We gathered together the three of us in their home and I was introduced to a charming catalog of their favorite songs which we performed in three-part harmony everywhere we could... Ann's warm kind soul shined through in everything she engaged in. I was honored to be a part of her production Prozac Blues. I am honored to...
