Not sure what to say?

Ann was my American Red Cross Blood Services Chairperson when I was employed at the Triangle Area Chapter in Raleigh. This would have been during the 1980's. We met often and she was a pleasure to work with. I heard about her often through my mother-in-law as they both attended Zebulon Baptist Church. I'm sorry to say that I did not hear of her death until today but I wanted to note her passing and extend my appreciation for her service and say how sorry I am about the loss to her family...

Mayor Bob and Family:

We were saddened to here of the passing of your wife Ann. You and your family have been in our thoughts and prayers.

Don and Sharon Kingston
Mayor, Town of Duck

My wife Sara and I know the Matheny family from our long and valued friendship with Sam, Tamara and sons. Sam speaks of his family in the most loving and reverent words and memories. We will keep and grow these memories, now in Ann's honor, as a way of keeping her memory alive too. What a fabulous family of high achievers who selflessly give back. You can be proud of your family, Ann!

I'm so sad to learn of Dr. Matheny's passing. Ann was a great friend and mentor to me as a developing school psychologist in Wake County. She will be forever remembered and had a great impact on so many. I will remember her sense of humor most of all.

Bob, you have my deepest sympathy, call upon me the next time you need a friend.

Bob & Family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Always know that God gives us strength to carry these types of burdens as you and your family remember Ms. Ann. I had the chance to meet her on several occasions and will always remember her sweet smile. Brenda Clark, Town of White Lake

Michelle,

I'm so sorry for your loss. You did such a great job taking care of your mother; she was lucky to have your love and devotion.

Take care of yourself now.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Matheny but know her husband through the N.C. League of Municipalities. After reading her obituary I realized like her husband she was a class act. My prayers go out to the family.
Mayor Terry Mann
Whiteville, NC

A wonderful and well-deserved tribute to a beloved classmate and friend. Everyone who knew Ann will miss her.

My sincere condolences to Bob and family.

Love, Celia Hales Mabry, Oxford, Mississippi
