Ann I. Mcclellan

Ann and I had been friends ever since we both started at the Smithsonian in 1974! And we remained friends all these years later. Ann was so organized at getting us together with other friends for dinner all through the years. We traveled for work together multiple times. Ann often remarked that we were at the Smithsonian at the best time of tremendous growth and lucky to travel the world. From Hong Kong and China to Italy and other faraway places we enjoyed our many cultural experiences...

Ann spoke to our local garden club several times. We appreciated her engaging presentations about Bonsai and Cherry Trees. Her love of the topics, extensive knowledge, and incredible stories made art and history come alive for her listeners. We were charmed by her warm personality. My condolences to her friends and family. What a remarkable person.

My Friend. What a fascinating woman you were. You went from being my PT client to being a really good friend. All the cultural things you introduced me to. Whenever I would come upon Ann walking around Hillwood, I always enjoyed our talks about gardens, museum work and discussing her latest project or mine. She was a kind and generous soul and will be greatly missed.

Ann was a delightful person, a friend whom I greatly admired. I enjoyed chatting with her in French on a regular basis with a small group of friends. She will be missed by so many.
