Ann Lillian Mills, 79 of Clements, MD, departed this life peacefully early on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born December 19, 1934 in Chaptico, Maryland to the late Arthur and Alice Thomas-Mills. Ann was a member of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Chaptico, MD.

Ann was educated in the St. Mary’s County Public School system. After high school she went on to further her education by attending the Nursing School Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, where she earned her credentials to become a Nurse’s Aide. Thereafter, Ann would start her career at St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD in March 1968. She worked there for 29 years until her retirement in January 1997.

Ann was predeceased in death by her parents Arthur and Alice Mills and two sisters, Louise Somerville and Josephine Smith.

Ann leaves to cherish her fond memories to her four children; Diane Dorsey of Mechanicville, MD, Phyllis Clayton of California, MD, Larry Mills, Sr. (Agnes) of Hollywood, MD and Ronnie Mills of Clements, MD; five grandchildren, Denise Johnson (Chris), DeAnna “Dee-Dee” Mills, DeLyse “Nicky” Dorsey, Travis and Larry “LJ” Mills, Jr.; five great grandchildren, Joy, Darren, Corey, Cameron and Maleiah; two great-great grandchildren, Maya and Mason; three sisters and one brother, Ann Edelen, of Newburg, MD, Pearl Greene (Sterling), of Waldorf, MD, Agnes Mills, of Waldorf, MD and James “Jimmy” Mills, of Clements, MD; brother-in-law, Lawrence Somerville, Sr.(Ella); three Godchildren, Carla Bowman White, Charles “Chuck” Countiss and Paul “Buddy” Rustin, Jr. She also leaves to cherish her memories to her four special friends, Rebecca “Polly” Rustin, Doris Jameson, Mary Queen, Sarah Holt and a host of other family and friends.

Family will unite with friends on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 for visitation and viewing at 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 23080 Maddox Rd, Bushwood, MD 20618. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.
