Ann Marie Pierce

Ann Marie Pierce, loving wife of Gregory L. Pierce, passed away on December 27, 2009, after an unexpected illness. Ann Marie was born in Lawrence, MA, to Della and Raymond Ursillo, with whom she moved to Stockton in 1964. She graduated from Stagg High School in 1967. She has been a member of the Stockton community ever since. Ann Marie was a homemaker and mother of four children whom she raised in Stockton, along with her husband, Greg.
Ann Marie's first love, after family, was teaching. She worked for several within Lincoln Unified School District. She has been teaching at St. Mary's High School in the computer science department since 1999. She was a devout member of the LDS church, where she was a long-time member and volunteer. She held many positions within the church, often working with young people. She extended her teaching activity to her church, as Sunday school teacher at the Brookside Ward of the LDS Church.
Ann Marie will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her wonderful sense of humor and infectious laugh, her love of cooking and gardening, and her love for her family.
Ann Marie leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years, Greg, her children, David L. Pierce, Julie Hale (Steven Hale), Melissa Pierce (Jordan Kolton), Ryan Pierce (Jen Wells), her granddaughters Katelyn Hale, Kristen Hale, unborn grandson (Kolton), her sister, Cathy Waddy (Phillip Waddy), and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 800 W. Brookside Rd, Stockton, CA at 9:00 a.m. with visitation at 8:30 a.m. prior to the service. There will be visitation at the DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Dr., Stockton, CA on Wednesday, December 30th, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, CA. I will miss Ann Marie tremendously.She taught me so much over the years and was always there for me when I needed her. I will miss our talks about our kids and the events in our lives. I will miss our holidays together. I looked up to her and was so lucky to have her in my life. She is at peace now and with our parents. I will see you again, dear sister.

It will be such a sad day tomorrow as we return to school without Ann Marie. Her smile, kind heart and constant positive attitude will always stay with me! She was such an inspiration and I am going to miss her greatly!! St. Mary's and all of us has lost a shining star!

Ann Marie was my colleague when I was a new teacher at St. Mary's. She was always friendly and warm with a ready smile. I know her students enjoyed her class. We were all blessed to have known her kind spirit.

When I head the news about Sister Peirce's passing I was so sad! I truly loved her. She was such an example of happiness, love, a zest for life and a love of teh gospel. I am so greatful to have had her influence in my life. He infectious smile and laugh will be sorely missed by all. It will be strange to come home to visit my parents and not see Ann Marie to welcome me back. My deepest condolences.

Today, we were all saddened to hear about your loss. Sharon remembers Ann Marie especially in her role as her counselor in Young Women and we all remember her sweet smile and disposition. Wow, this was very surprising news. I did not know about Mrs. Pierce's death until few of my friends told me. I hope that she may rest in peace. She will be truly missed. I enjoyed being apart of her class for this school year of 2009-2010. She made computer graphics really enjoyable. Deepest condolence to her family.

Mrs. Pierce was one of my favorite teachers. She always showed how much she loved teaching. Her webpage class was awesome. Its so unreal to believe she is not with us today. I just saw her at the Christmas Concert having a great time. You will be missed Mrs. Pierce.

I so enjoyed seeing Ann Marie a just few weeks ago. I'm so glad I got a big hug from her. I was shocked and saddened to read the report in the Record. Ann Marie was a great women, she was always there for her students as well for myself during my tenure there. I missed her the most when I left SM, and now, she will be always in my heart.

She was an awesome teacher. She was very polite when I saw her and I will miss her when I go to St. Mary's to visit old teachers, it's sad she won't be there. Room 73 (I believe) won't be the same.
