Read MoreI am sure the hundreds of friends who went to Boots for support and advise will not know her name was Ann Stafford Powe. We only knew her has Boots. Like others, I loved her and her sister Betsy. We were all saddened when she became to ill to share time with us. My prayers and sympathies are with her family.

"Boots," as I knew her, was a wonderful spiritual mentor and friend who taught me so much, for which I will be eternally grateful. She gave me hope in the early to mid-90's when I was going through a divorce which I thought would kill me. In addition, her dear sister Besty was a favorite of mine. I am so sorry for the losses your family has experienced in the last several months.
When Harry was alive and I'd call, he'd always refer to me as "Boots' friend who sends the cards." ...
