Ann Shirey

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ann Read Shirey, 73, wife of Judson F. Shirey, Sr., entered into rest Friday, July 25, 2014, at Trinity Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2014, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Eddie Renew, and Reverend Bobby Burkett officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Shirey, daughter of the late James Wiley, Sr. and Margaret Ann Walters Read, was a native of Augusta and was a homemaker. She attended Dearing Full Gospel Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margie Mueller. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Curt Mueller and Gerald Shirey, both of Augusta, and James Mueller, Sr., of Columbia, SC; her daughters, Gale (Ashley) Key of Glennville, GA, Laurie (Doug) Wright, of Martinez, Cindy (James) Brinson, of Harlem, and honorary daughter, Teresa Shirey, of Columbia, SC; her brothers, James Wiley Read, Jr., of Augusta, and Floyd Edmund Read, of Comer, GA; her sisters, Eleanor Foshee, of Augusta, and Carol Logan, of Martinez; her grandchildren, Felicia, Curtis, Miranda, Tiffany, James, Allen, Tommy, Ashlyn, Tyler, Ashlee, Kristian, and Jamey; and thirteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Curtis Mueller, Nick Parr, Tyler Key, Daniel Freeman, James Mueller, Jr., Cesar Valdez, and Bobby Jerome. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 27, 2014, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
