Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the Simms family.

Ann and I grew up across the street from each other in Stamford, and were classmates from grade school through high school. She was the sister I never had, and always charming, intelligent and a lady through and through. I only recently returned to Texas and had lost touch with Ann and John, and her sister Scottie and husband Harry. What a shock to recently learn we had lost both these bright and loving ladies in this past year! Many warm memories of both girls and their parents.

Julie and family, so sorry to hear about your mom. She was a second mom to me while living on Locke Lane!! And I love seeing our block made her obituary. What great memories I have from playing at your house and on the street. I would love to reconnect. Maria Adams Roach.

I am so sorry for your loss. May the "God of all comfort " who " is close to the broken-hearted " provide for you family in the days ahead.

Ann and I were classmates at Randolph-Macon Women's College, and became friends when our marriages brought us to Houston, and her Missy and my Wyatt became classmates at St. John's. She was always an inspiring and gracious lady, with a quick wit, and I was sorry when she moved "north". My sincerest sympathy to John, plus daughters and grandkids for your very great loss.

Our hearts go out to you. May God bless you all.

Ann Simms changed my life. Many years ago, as a high-schooler, I babysat Missy and Julie in Houston. Ann saw potential in me and recruited me to attend her alma mater, Randolph-Macon Woman's College. AND, she mobilized the Houston Area Alumnae to create a scholarship to defray the cost that was out of reach for my family. My good education has influenced the rest of my life. I am forever grateful to Ann. As I read Ann's beautiful obituary, I see her profound commitment to education,...
