Ann Stroh-Klebermass

Dear Mike and Mary Jo,

Please know how saddened I am to hear of Ann's passing. I am Pat Wright's sister, living here in Whitefish Bay, and I remember with fondness my conversation with Ann nearly three years ago when she was first diagnosed. I was being treated for cancer at Froedtert at that time, so I know only too well the pain it causes for family and friends. I have no doubt that Ann remained spirited and determined through it all. Ann was my roommate in Beaufort, SC. I met her through a friend from Milwaukee who was also living in Beaufort at the time. She said a friend of a friend needed a place to live when she came to town. Ann moved in and we were great friends from the get-go. Ann has an infectious and wicked sense of humor that I am sure is entertaining all those in heaven right now. We lost touch over the years as Ann embarked on a journey to figure out what she wanted from life and I moved to northern Illinois...

Ann was only in South Carolina for a short time, but she made a big impression on all of us. In just the few months she lived among us in a small little, coastal town, she became adored by so many people, she was like family.

What I will remember most is how kind she was and how humble and how often she thought of others before herself. I can't remember a day when she wasn't smiling that wide, wide smile or offering to help someone she didn't even know.

She is missed...

Last night I allowed the tears to flow as my heart was grieving the loss of sweet Ann. It is in our tears that we find comfort and that we allow the fond memories to take their place in our hearts. I remember most of all the time when Ann was dressed up in a banana costume for my daughter Kirsten's bachelorette party on the boat sailing down the St. Croix River. She and Kate were so happy and full of fun and frolic. I wish that I could have had the opportunity to spend more time with Ann...

My sincerest condolences and a promise of prayers that the Lord will give you the strength and willingness to gift Ann to the Lord who gave her to you, even if for so short a time. Every life is given to us by the Lord to accomplish the work the Lord has designed for us to do.
