Ann M. Wightman

Ms. Wightman was my teacher, my faculty and thesis adviser, my boss, and my friend. She demanded much from us, but gave back in equal measure. I remember her calling me just to make sure I was okay after turning in my thesis with minutes to spare. And taking my whole family to lunch when they visited. And not answering the door at home right away because she was listening to Bob Marley in her headphones. She had a wicked sense of humor and an endearing tendency to snort when she laughed.

Ann was a true friend, an ear and a shoulder, and a support to so many. Her commitment to doing what was right inspired me in innumerable ways. I will miss her.

Sending strength to Mal and her beloved family. May her memory be a blessing.
