Anna Karwowski

Anna Karwowski, 83, of Ellenville, died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at her home. Anna was born in the Bronx at Fordham hospital to the late Frank & Mary Matecka Karwowski. She enjoyed making jewelry with beads, arts & crafts and gardening. She loved playing her harmonica and had a passion for rings and watches in which she had lots of. Anna liked to do laundry and would get very feisty about it. She also just HAD TO HAVE pants with pockets!! She was very close to Bozena who she communicated with in Polish. Bozena taught Anna all about their native country Poland and often took her to Polish related celebrations which Anna loved. Anna enjoyed doing arts & crafts and gardening with Leslie who she nicknamed Nancy and would anticipate her arrival to the residence to get started on their next project. She lovingly nicknamed staff Heather; Bikka, Bev; Catherine, Jazminn: LaLa.Anna loved her sister Victoria very much and looked forward to visits where they exchanged gifts and shared meals together. Anna had a special staff at her day program, Tracy who helped her in facilitating these visits. Anna will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow funeral service in Montrepose Cemetery
