Anna Evelyn McConnell

ELBERTA — Anna Evelyn McConnell, 96, of Elberta, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006. She was born July 5, 1910, in Maple City, the daughter of Anton and Mary (Novotny) Bartunek.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Donna (Homer) Morris of Benzonia; three grandchildren, Laura (Chris) Scramlin of Benzonia, Cheryl (James) Holtrey of Beulah and Dan Morris of Benzonia; two great-grandchildren, Jennelle Holtrey and Derek Stoike; one great-great-granddaughter, Kylee Stoike; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Lon Lee McConnell in 1955; son, Leonard Roy McConnell in 1972; and nine brothers and sisters.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held in the spring.
