Anna “Rusty” Adele Meyer

September 7, 1934 – October 12, 2024

Anna Adele Meyer passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at the age of 90, surrounded by her family and friends who loved and cherished her greatly.

Anna was the daughter of August and Betha Meyer. She was born in Queens, NY. As a child Anna had the most vibrant strawberry blonde hair which gave her the nick name “Rusty”, a name that would follow her the rest of her life. Rusty worked and retired as a supervisor for AAA. Her work with AAA brought her to Florida where Rusty was a member of the Montverde community for over 30 years and was active in the Veteran’s Affairs Committee. Rusty was an avid reader, loved her game night, and especially enjoyed her occasional trip to the casino.

Rusty is survived by her loving partner Judy Smith of 31 years, her sister Johanna, and sister-n-law Sharon. Her dearest nieces and nephews Linette, Dennis, Jackie, Linda, Debbie, Jimmy, Diane, Tommy, Vincent, James, Gregory, William, Donald, Bill, Joseph, Marie, Cathy, Christine, Jerry, Annie, John; her “Florida Family” Joe, Claudia, Liz, Dutch, Debbie, and Carol; as well as many other family and friends who loved her immensely.

Please join us for a graveside celebration of her life at 11am. on October 26, 2024, at the Montverde Cemetery. The Becker Funeral Home, 806 W. Minneola Ave. Clermont, FL will oversee the arrangements. If you wish to send a floral arrangement, please send it in care of: Joe & Claudia Wynkoop, 17405 10th St. Montverde Fl, 34756. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Rusty’s honor to a charity of your choice, the American Cancer Society, or the Alzheimer’s Society.
