Annabelle Barnes

I join my sisters Jan and Terri in sending deepest condolences to Sam and the entire Barnes family on this sad loss. Ann and Sam were dear friends and colleagues of our parents in that fabulous "class of `57" at U-M´s political science department. Ann was a special friend of our mother, Barbara Grassmuck, who delighted in their lunches and shopping trips in the Washington DC area after our Dad passed away. I had the distinct pleasure of a most enjoyable visit with the Barnes family in London...

Anne and Sam were great friends of my parents in Ann Arbor and steadfast friends of my mother during her long illness. I will always be grateful to Anne for lovingly whisking Mom off on shopping trips in DC and supporting her in so many ways. My sympathies to the Barnes clan on the loss of dear, warm-hearted Anne.

I remember Annabelle, to me known as Mrs. Barnes. I remember how kind she was with all the kids in Jr. High selling after school treats for music. Always so nice, and so beautiful. Her son Michael was in a few of my classes. So sorry to hear about this. The family will be in my thoughts and prayers for comfort.
