Carolyn, Steve, and Edie, Cassandra..... What a full life and fulfilled life. And her beautiful amazing traits have come down to the kids:). Sending you love and condolences from Oakland, California. Hope the pain of losing her gradually turns to a feeling of love and gratitude to her for being such a special mom.

For more than a decade of my life, Anne welcomed me into the Dowd home as another of her children. She fed me, sheltered me , forgave me, and taught me as her own. We are deprived of things immeasurably valuable by her absence.

Wonderfully talented person.

Anne had it all: talent, intelligence, beauty, and a keen sense of humor, yet she was soft spoken, gracious, and elegant. She was one of our first friends in Johnson City and would even visit us in Vermont in the summer. We played Bridge and went to Tinseltown together to see Met operas. She loved to entertain and had many parties for all her family and friends at her Johnson City and Ripshin homes. Anne was devoted to and generous with her family, friends, and community.

Anne was a wonderful additional to the knitting table at Yarntiques. Her sense of humor, laughter and kindness will be missed. Candice Powell

But to me, she was something even more-she was a source of kindness, generosity, and love that I will carry with me forever. Some of my most cherished memories are of the time spent together at the Dowd household on West Pine St, various family gatherings for the...

In loving memory of Anne, my dear stepmother, Your presence in my fathers life brought light and love. Your grace and unwavering support made you not just a stepmother, but a cherished member of our family. Anne brought stability and control into my fathers life. She put together our crumbling family home and gave all of us, Mark, Barbara, Bert, Carolyn, Steve and Edie a beautiful home to gather. When dad had his stroke, you were a rock. You kept him in his home and brought him...
