Anne Connerton

John and I so enjoyed Anne and Jim the many times we spent with them and their good friends Paul and Diane Scheurich. I´ll always remember her big smile and ready wit. Fellow teachers in the Fairfax County Public School System, Anne, Diane, and I would share many a tale. Anne Connerton was my oldest friend and the only friend that I maintained uninterrupted contact with throughout our lives. From our girlhood days in Stonington, through our young marriages to Naval Air officers, to our three children each, to our BA's and MA's earned later in life, to our full careers as teachers, to our post-retirement volunteer work , to our get togethers over the years, and our lifelong commitment to voracious reading, we have constantly nourished our friendship. So sorry to hear of Anne's passing. We were young Navy wives raising our children in SanDiego while our husbands served there country on deployments. We were together again in Virginia Beach. We kept in touch over the years and I will miss her.

Anne was a true friend to me in the many hours we spent together in Va. Beach! Her laughter, the sparkle in her eyes, and a keen sense of humor will be remembered always by me! A true friend in every way! This world needs more Anne Connerton´s! Sending fond thoughts to all!

Ann was one of the first people I got to know when I moved to Stonington 10 years ago through the historical society. I thought her beautiful and gracious. She made me feel so welcome. I got to know and spend time with her over the years. We have lost someone special.
