Anne Deckard

Thank you for sharing Anne's uplifting life. As the great grandson of John van der Veen from the Bakery on Vliet Street in Franeker, Friesland I found inspiration in Anne's long life of accomplishments and a bit of humor in what I would call Anne's "Friesian traits". I am grateful for the many in Anne's generation that made GR such a great place grow up in. RIP fellow Friesian and may God bless the many people you touched in your life of service.

She was a force of nature! We are so glad we got to know her and spend a little time with her. Clearly her love of science and care for those in need were passed diwn in her family. Our sympathy to you all.

She taught me chemistry while in nursing school in 1983... I can still hear echos of her voice in my head... what a delightful teacher she was! God bless you all and give you comfort in this time of loss.

I have wonderful memories of professor Deckard from chemistry class at GRJC in 1979-1980. She knew her chemistry and was a delightful teacher. One of many things that I use and recall to this day was a little aid that she gave us ( one of many) to remember how to safely dilute a concentrated acid. “ Add water to the acid, may your rest be long and placid.
