Anne was one of a kind, a picturesque combination of no-fool-suffering and kindness and generosity to everyone, anyone. With an intellect few can aspire to, she maintained her intellectual and cultural life in the stratosphere and her engagée life on solid earth. She enriched my own life in many ways.

My sincere condolences. I had the pleasure and privilege to spend time with Anne in Marrakech when we were both much younger. She was a wonderful woman and committed to helping everyone she met. I loved her smile.
