Not sure what to say?

I came across this obituary by accident online. We were very close colleagues back in the 199s in Shanghai at China Daily, and we travelled together with a group of people on weekend to neighboring provinces. Anne was very energetic, lively and full of energy. Her laughter was loud and made us very happy. My mom and I also visited her when she was teaching in Fujian in the scenic Wuyi Mountain area. Of course, I also visited her in Syracuse during my work and fellowship years in the US. So...

You made such a difference. Thank You.

Peter My thoughts and prayer go out to you and your family. It has been many years since I had the pleasure getting to know your family. Many memories grew from my early years of coaching hockey when we started the program. I use to see your mom through my sailboat racing on Skaneateles Lake. Coach Michael Gagliardi and Cheryl.

Jigger sat behind me in the old Herald-Journal newsroom. By the time I arrived at 9am, she would have been at her desk for hours, polishing her stories. Her afternoons were spent sensitively speaking to bereaved families about the loved ones they´d just lost. She crafted those interviews into beautiful obituaries - worth reading whether you knew the subject or not. She covered the great and the good - and other, more ordinary, lives - including a story about a homeless man, tracing his life...

Pete, Sara, Phil, What a beautiful service for a beautiful person. Your mom was special, and I´m so grateful I knew her. May she rest in peace. My mom sends her regards as well. So glad I got to see you all and pay my respects. Take care. Nat

I am so sorry to see this news. Our sympathies to everyone in Anne's family. I loved working with Anne many years in so many ways. Her laugh was infectious. Her joy of life was a delight. Her deep roots and curiosity meant she knew so much about our community, but she was never intimidated about starting something new. So many memories and stories live on forever because Anne wrote them.

She was so sweet and kind and she will be missed she had a beautiful smile

Phil, Pete and Sara.... I definitely remember your mom and am learning a lot I didn't know in the obituary. That she spent time in Shanghai is amazing (I was there in 1995 and 1996... had I known). Am thinking of all of you. Best, Tom Beardsley

Anne, You know now Heaven is lovely plain tree-lined boulevards with 40-foot-wide bicycle lanes ... and NO cars! Zhù nín ltú zhong chongmn píng'an y ài, peng you. Wishing you peace and love on your newest journey, my friend. And, I hope, lots of laughter. I wish I had been there when Bro welcomed you home with a warm hug and a brand-new joke. No doubt there'll be laughter. No doubt at all.
