DR. ANNELIESE SITARZ

Dr. Anneliese Sitarz was one of my favorite Doctors. She saved my life when I was her patient with leukemia at the age of 13 years. In 1994 Anneliese recommended Dr. Housepian, also at Columbia Presbyterian, when I developed a brain tumor. She even even visited me in the hospital after my tumor resection. What a wonderful Doctor she was!

My son Scott Scudieri was under her care from 1977 to 1982 when he passed away. Dr Sitarz was an amazing woman and doctor and I will never forget the wonderful way in which she took care of our son and also us. With Dr James Wolff, Dr Starz and he were a remarkable team. An Angel is truly in Heaven.

My family sends their deep sympathy for your loss. Anneliese was friend and neighbor with my parents, Ray and Jane Ruppert on Edgewood Road for many, many years. I remember her always buoyant spirit, and great accomplishments in medicine. My mother, now 90 and living in NC, was last in touch with Anneliese last fall.

She'd asked me this evening if I could check on the internet and see if Anneliese still lived at her Maplewood location. It was very sad news to my mother to hear of her...

I met Dr. Sitarz in Jan. 1996. She was an amazing doctor. She touched the hearts of so many people. She will be missed.
