Not sure what to say?

Over the years, I have thought of Madame Berman many times. She was my French teacher and I had so much respect for her. I have told my children (now young adults) about the stories she shared of her time in the French resistance. As I write a segment about her in a story (not mentioned by name) I wanted to see if she was still alive. I didn´t think she would be, but knew there was a slight chance. I don´t know, after all these years, if the note will find you. She was a great lady! In...

There are no words to express how much Madame Berman meant to me as a teacher, a mentor, and a friend. I am deeply saddened by her loss, yet inspired and uplifted by her life. Her love of teaching and her care for her students continue to shape my work today as a teacher. I will cherish my memories of her forever.

I will ALWAYS remember Madame Berman. She was my French Teacher at Harrisburg Academy.....but she was more than a French Teacher......she was a storyteller and would digress periodically to share the stories of her life. We would relish these anecdotes and beg her not to return to the curricullum....She was a heroine and a a living legend.

Mrs. Berman was one special lady. We had her come speak to the 8th grade students at Northern Middle School on many occasions. Her story was incredible! I am very glad that I had the opportunity to hear her story in person.

Mrs. Berman was a remarkable woman that I was fortunate enough to hear speak. I was in awe listening to the story of her time with the French Resistance. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Annette Berman, or Madame Berman, as she was known to her beloved students. While I appreciate the French I learned from her, what I cherish most are her stories of heroism and courage she would share with us about her experiences in the French Resistance during World War II. She was absolutely riveting and her life made an enormous impression on me as a young student at the Academy.

Mark and Teri, I am sorry I am not able to tell you in...

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Berman. I was fortunate to know her as a student at the Harrisburg Academy where, if we were lucky, we could divert her from her lesson plan to tell amazing stories of courage and heroism during the war. Later, I was lucky to count her as a good friend. She was never without a warm smile and words of encouragement. My deepest sympathy to her family -- she will be greatly missed.

MARK & TERI, MY CODOLENCES TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.YOUR MOTHER WILL BE SADLY MISSED.MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU.

I was saddened to learn of the news of Madame Berman's passing. I enjoyed her French classes for many years at the Harrisburg Academy--especially the stories that she told when my classmates and I would get her to deviate from her lesson plan. Stories that I repeat to my son, after having heard them so many years ago!
My prayers are with the entire family as you grieve a wonderful woman.
She will be greatly missed by all.
