Annette Kaufman

So sorry to find out 2 years after the fact. Still miss her and Louis prolific letter writing! Stayed at her home 20 years ago for a week and loved every minute of it. Amazing people whose likes we will never see again.

We remember the lovely letters exchanged about her work with her late husband Louis and the wonderful relationship with the composer William Grant Still. She was very much in the forefront of performing his music.
We also fondly remember meeting up at Flagstaff. She was a wonderful person who showed much generosity to others, regardless of their race, creed or background.

Dear Annette, Thank you for bringing the music of Vivaldi to millions of listeners, for your generous gifts to the Library of Congress, the National Portrait Gallery and other museums, for the many hours we talked about music and your incredible life with Louis, and especially for your encouragement and friendship.

Dearest Annette, Thank you (and Louis) for your generosity of spirit for sharing your love of music and art with those around you. The times we spent together traveling and enjoying concerts, operas, plays and museum visits together have changed my life for the better. I will never forget you dear lady.
